Artist Talk before B_Tour Nightwalkers. Auf den Spuren der Arbeiter(alp)träume

Take a B_Tour to see your city with new eyes! Before a collective exploration of an archive of proletarian dreams and nightmares in Prenzlauer Berg, you can learn more and talk with the artists.

friendly fire explores the dreams and nightmares of those who were once called the “(sub)proletariat” through the format of a nightly expedition. As urban archivists, archaeologists of labour, co-dreamers and ghost hunters, the performers invite the audience to join them on a quest to leave behind the 20th and 21st Centuries and break through to the future. The audience will visit an archive of proletarian dreams and nightmares waiting to be reactivated, revisioned and re-dreamed. Take advantage of the opportunity of an artist talk with Melanie Albrecht and Michael Wehren to discuss the matter.

Tickets for the tour can be bought directly as the tour begins – a reservation is requested under bookingberlin(at)b-tour.org

About the organisation:

B_Tour

Western society is progressively becoming estranged and individualized. People spend longer hours at work, and a shocking average of 5 hours daily in front of our TVs, mobile phones, computers and tablets. This has destructive effects on communal engagement and neighborhood life in western cities today. Therefore, the diverse, international and mobile societies in contemporary metropolitan environments call for new approaches to the formation of local, creative, democratic and active communities. Confronted with this situation we created B_Tour, a platform to examine current needs of urban life and to explore how art can be used as a tool to find possible answers to these needs. We curate, commission and develop artistic guided tours in urban environments. The tours provide locals with a new perspective of their city and inspire community life and civil participation.
