Artist Talk in English following 'Farewell, Salmons'

A young woman travels back to Syria to bury her mother looking for utopic dreams in the reality of civil war.The piece will be discussed after the performance with Syrian Director Wirad Kaddo and the artists team.

After the performance, the audience is invited to stay for an artist talk with Syrian Author and Director Wirad Kaddo and actress Reham Alkassar. What did motivate them to create this show and how did they work on it? Questions and remarks are welcome.

The piece is in Arabic, with English surtitles. 

You can now reserve tickets (10/15 €) including free admission to the post-performance discussion directly through Theater Scoutings! (up to 1 day before the performance) Just send an email and the desired number of tickets to reservierung(at)theaterscoutings-berlin.de.
You are also certainly welcome to simply come by on the day of the performance, but we are unable to guarantee that tickets will be available.

In 2009 the theatre company Heimathafen Neukölln launched a new folk theatre in Berlin´s most multi-cultural district- Neukölln. With the motto WE ARE THE  PEOPLE´S THEATRE and a diverse program of theatre productions, concerts, lectures and new show formats, Heimathafen Neukölln has given the district of Neukölln a new lively voice  -  made up by a crossover of styles, genres and cultures.

About the piece:

Farewell, Salmons

A young woman lives in Syria, and she have to bury her mother. We watch her being disrupted between utopic dreams of her mother and reality of civil war. She meets people that are leftover by war and remembering her own sheltered childhood and the idealism she was raised with, the question of perspective after war in Syria becomes pressing.

About the author/ director:

Wirad Kaddo

Wirad Kaddo is a director and author from Syria. After now there this is her second work in Berlin. Reham Alkassar is a actress working who studied dramatics… The international Collective Sodom focuses on the intercultural exchange about pressing social and political topics.
