Artist Talk in English Following 'State of Emergency: Palestine'

This performance series is freely inspired by Navid Kermani's reports on "places in crisis" and invites guests and the audience to a discussion – this month's location of honor is Palestine.

A guest from Palestine is invited to participate in the performance related to his country, hosted by Anders Carlsson /Judith van der Werff and related to his country, freely inspired by Navid Karmani's report. But what do the roles of host, guest and audience mean in this context? The audience is welcomed to stay after the performance for further discussion with the host and the guest about the subject matter, the country, the ideology of crisis...

You can now reserve tickets (7/11€) including free admission to the post-performance discussion directly through Theater Scoutings! (up to 1 day before the performance) Just send an email with the desired number of tickets to reservierung(at)theaterscoutings-berlin.de.
You are also certainly welcome to simply come by on the day of the performance, but we are unable to guarantee that tickets will be available.

VIERTE WELT KOLLABORATIONEN

The core mission of this institution is to bring artistic work back to real life so that it is no longer the producing artist using stories from the precarious and peripheral margins for their work but instead the artistic work producing a break in reality. The institution see itself as a link between the performing and visual arts and the burning societal-political issues of our time.

About the performance:

State of Emergency– Six performances freely inspired by Navid Kermanis reports

Part 5: Host from Palestine
The Islam scholar Navid Kermani smuggles his readers off to countries that are still known as "places of crisis" with State of Emergency: Journeys in a Troubled World. His subjective reports from 8 different countries provide new access to unfamiliar worlds in Kashmir, India, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Palestine and to the gateway to Europe, Lampedusa, with a robust poetic style. Director Dirk Cieslak approaches these countries of crisis with six different performances, inspired by Kermani's curiosity and empathetic attentiveness. Each performance features a guest from the respective country.

About the report's author:
