Participatory Theater Performances in the frame of 'Forum Theater Weekend' (22.-24.08.)

Welcome to Forum Theater, an innovative form of participatory theater that transforms the audience into "spect/actives" who engage directly with the issues and situationsd of injustice portrayed aesthetical on stage. The performance are questions to which all, public and theater group, seek for possible ways to answer. By an horizontal and active methodology, Forum Theater is an expericience that stimulate thought- provoking dialogues, empowers all participants, gives deeply insights about the topics performed and drives social change. Art and action as a rehearshal of the revolution!

Are you ready to break the fourth wall and dive into a world where you are not just a spectator but an active participant? Forum Theater is a form of participatory theatre that invites the audience to interact directly with the themes and situations of injustice portrayed on stage. In this context, the audience have the opportunity to intervene collectively in the narratives, perform their strategies that generates change and join dialogues that promote reflection. During the Forum Theater Weekend, the performances will expose a wide range of political and contemporaty issues such as gender, toxic masculity, discrimination, identity... The groups perform their play as a question to the audience, and then all will seek for alternatives to change that erformed realities.

Tickets can be collected directly at the venue.
We recommend a solidarity contribution 5 / 10 € to support the organization of the event.

Language: English/German

Accessibility: Studio 14 is located almost at ground level. There is no raised area in the studio itself. There is a slight incline of 1.0% from the outside to the entrance of the studio.

About Venue

Uferstudios (Uferstudio 14)

The Uferstudios for contemporary dance are a rehearsal, event and training venue at the same time – created for and performed by artists from Berlin's independent (dance) scene. A varied program, ranging from initial work presentations, lectures and discussions, premieres and performances up to festivals, invites you to the 17 studios on the extensive site on the shore of the Panke in Berlin-Wedding. On the site, there are a total of six partners from Berlin's independent dance scene: ada Studio & Bühne für zeitgenössischen Tanz, the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin (HZT), Tanzbüro Berlin, Tanzfabrik Berlin, the artists' collective PSR and the operating company Uferstudios GmbH.

KURINGA

KURINGA is a place for theater in Berlin, specialized in Theater of the Oppressed and feminisnit easthetics for political poetics. Under the artistic direction of the renowned Barbara Santos, KURINGA is dedicated to explore new dimension of forum theatre, paying special attention at the qualitiy of the aesthetical performance and creating innovations in the forum, such as collective interventions. KURINGA stimulates dialogue and develops the connection between art and politics from a decolonized, antiracist , intersectinal feminist perspective.
